With DirMonitor you can monitor all activities carried out on files, folders, and registry keys. These activities include deletion, modification, creation and accessing these files/folders. You can also log activation and termination of processes.

Along with the logging feature, you can attach so called Triggers to each activity. Such a Trigger will then be activated whenever DirMonitor notices that particulat activity. These Triggers can for example play a sound, or launch another program. You can even send information about which file(s) have been changed to these external programs. This way, you can for instance send any newly created files to your virus scanner.

All information will be logged in encrypted Log Files. Optionally, DirMonitor can automatically send these files to an email address.
The Logs can be limited in size by using Filters. This way only relevant information is contained.
Also you can export Log files to a Text File or a HTML File.

Password protection can be used to prevent unauthorized programs or users from closing DirMonitor.

Wizards, plugins and scripting support make it easier to use DirMonitor. By using Scripts, the user can automate all functionality of DirMonitor. A Script compiler is included in the package and can be extended indefinitely. More information about the Scripts can be found on the WebSite.

Possible applications include virus detection (an real-life example can be found in the Help Files), cleaning you PC after surfing the Net and monitoring activity on your computer.
