Maskan (????) -- Private multi-provider AI chat for Android.
Bring your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Groq, Mistral, OpenRouter, Together AI, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint including local models (Ollama, LM Studio).
Your conversations stay on your device. Your API keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM via Android Keystore. The app's network access is locked to only the providers you've enabled.

| Release notes | 2.7 is about ownership and honesty: the providers are yours to arrange, the app can hear a voice note, and the model on your phone now reads photos. New • Voice notes. Attach an audio file (a WhatsApp voice note included) and Maskan turns it into text as it was spoken. The transcript goes to the model, so this works with every provider and with the model on your phone. Chips under the note: Transcribe only, Transcribe and answer, Listen and answer (Gemini and OpenAI hear the audio itself), and Rewrite in…, which turns a dialect into Modern Standard Arabic or another dialect and shows both versions. The audio file is never put in a backup. Its transcript is. • A new model on your phone. Qwen3.5-0.8B-VL (Apache 2.0) on LiteRT-LM replaces Qwen2.5 1.5B. It reads photos, so the camera works offline with no key. It is a 1.3 GB download, checked against a pinned SHA-256. Phones with 6 GB of RAM are no longer turned away. • Web search. One switch lets a model answer with today's information, through the provider's own search. • Switch provider and model inside a chat. Removing an API key no longer needs instructions. • Hide and reorder providers. • The model's thinking, folded away. Reasoning shows in a collapsible row under the reply, and a switch turns thinking off where the provider allows it. • Edit the AI's reply, marked "edited". Fork from any message into a new chat. The original chat stays as it was. • DeepSeek reads photos. • Folder instructions and memory are offered when you make a folder. You can start a new chat inside a folder, and the folder shows in the chat header. Fixed • Math reads as math: \frac{3}{7} is 3/7, \times is ×. • Chat titles from the on-device model came out in the wrong language. • The chat list had two writers. It now has one. Download: app-universal-release.apk works on every phone; app-arm64-v8a-release.apk is smaller, for 64-bit ARM phones. Both are signed with the same key as every Maskan release on GitHub and F-Droid. |
