About Mapiah

User-friendly multiplatform interface to the powerful Therion cave mapping software.

As an intended side effect, it aims to completely replace xTherion, the venerable but ostensibly ancient Therion graphical interface.

Also create a thriving community of users and developers to make it as powerful and user friendly as such community needs and creates.

Release notes 1.0.1 - 2026-09-25 - The Frankfurt Connection Delay release
• Highlights:
• Scraps can now have several background sketches (#45). The scrap _Sketch_ dialog can take the filename and position from a raster image already loaded in the file (#44), and several problems in that dialog were fixed.
• Background images that are only moved are saved in the ##XTHERION## format again, so files stay compatible with XTherion (#46).
• Files without scraps now work properly. They open without errors, and adding or pasting points, lines or areas into them first asks you to create a scrap.
• Redo is now Ctrl+Shift+Z everywhere, and the line edit panel has a new "Add line segments" button.
• New features:
• Scraps now support multiple background sketches (#45). Mapiah preserves every -sketch option when reading and writing TH2 files, and the _Sketch_ dialog lets users select, add, edit, and remove each sketch.
• Added an "Add line segments" button to the line edit panel, matching the existing / shortcut that adds line segments between the selected line segments. The button is enabled when two or more end points are selected.
• The scrap _Sketch_ option dialog can now fill the sketch filename and lower left corner coordinates from a raster image already loaded in the file, warning when that image is scaled or rotated since Therion doesn't support it (#44).
• Choosing a tool to add a point, line or area in a file without scraps now opens the _Add scrap_ dialog first; once the scrap is created, the chosen tool is activated. Previously the new element failed with a "No element with index '0'" error.
• Changes:
• Redo is now Ctrl+Shift+Z everywhere: the canvas no longer uses Ctrl+Y, matching the text editor tabs. Text tabs now also accept both Ctrl and Cmd for undo and redo on every platform, as the canvas does.
• Fixes:
• Fixed the scrap _Sketch_ option dialog (#44): long filenames no longer push the dialog off screen, files picked with _Choose file_ are stored relative to the TH2…
