About Codex Usage Meter for Windows

A small Windows tray application that reads local Codex usage and task-state metadata. It displays weekly and rolling five-hour limits through widgets, a tray icon and a multi-display taskbar indicator. Available resets use the installed, signed-in Codex client, which may contact OpenAI for account metadata. The meter requests no password or API key and includes no analytics or telemetry.

Release notes The usage card now shows available resets separately from the currency credit balance. The compact widget includes both in its tooltip.
• Reads the authoritative count through the installed, signed-in Codex client's read-only usage interface. It never redeems resets or requests a login.
• Queries run only while the card is visible, at most once per minute. Codex may contact OpenAI for this account metadata; query analytics are disabled.
• Missing or unsupported data is shown as unavailable, zero is shown as zero, and retained counts are marked stale after a failed query.
• Updated English documentation, bilingual labels, regression checks, and the normal-widget screenshot (synthetic data).

Validation: Release build, automated checks and native Windows window checks passed. A read-only check against the installed Codex client returned its reset count. Installer, update and uninstall integration checks passed in GitHub Actions on a clean runner. The optional symbolic-link check requires a Windows privilege unavailable on the local test machine and was skipped. These checks do not replace use across every supported Windows/client/display configuration.

Download the per-user installer or self-contained portable ZIP below. WinGet receives the update after the community catalog accepts the new manifests.
