About Meteocool - Rain radar
Don't want to get wet, or want to follow a thunderstorm? meteocool shows rain and storms as they happen and where they are heading next.
Features
o Live radar, updated every few minutes: Germany, Switzerland, France, Czechia, Poland and the United States
o Nowcast: watch where the rain moves over the next 45 minutes. In our experience the first 45 minutes are pretty spot-on
o Lightning strikes live, from Blitzortung.org
o Storm cells, with a 3D radar view of each one
o Precipitation types, as the radar sees them
o Rain forecast for your location, comparing several weather models
o Base maps: match system, light, dark, OpenStreetMap or CyclOSM for biking
o Radar colour maps, including two for colour vision deficiency
o Your location on the map, followed as you move
o English, German, French, Italian, Polish and Czech
Rain alerts, the notification before rain reaches you, need Google's push service and are only in the Google Play version.
meteocool is open-core, built and run by volunteers in their spare time. This app is open source (AGPL-3.0), free of charge and has no ads.
Radar data from DWD, MeteoSwiss, Meteo-France, CHMU, IMGW-PIB and NOAA; the app lists every source and its licence under Settings.
