About Dejavu

Dejavu is a web browser for Android built on Mozilla's Gecko engine, the same
engine Firefox uses. It keeps the same page rendering, add-ons and Mozilla account
sync, and replaces the way tabs are organised with something quieter.

Dejavu is an independent project. It is not made, endorsed or supported by
Mozilla. Firefox is a trademark of the Mozilla Foundation in the U.S. and other
countries.

Instead of one long list of tabs, Dejavu gives you:

* Workspaces - separate sets of tabs for separate parts of your life, each with
its own colour theme and icon.
* Containers - keep sites signed in to different accounts apart, per workspace.
* Pinned tabs and essentials - the pages you always want open, always in reach.
* Folders - group tabs inside a workspace and collapse them out of the way.
* Split view - two pages side by side.
* A single bottom bar with every action, and an address field that stays out of
the way at the top.

Sync: Dejavu signs in with your Mozilla account and syncs workspaces, pinned
tabs, essentials, folders and containers with Zen Browser on the desktop. Or it
follows Firefox: each of your computers and phones with Firefox gets its own
workspace, with its pinned tabs and tab groups, and opening or closing a tab
there does the same in Firefox. Bookmarks, history and passwords sync too.

Private by default: Dejavu sends no telemetry or crash reports, shows no
sponsored content, and search suggestions are off from the first launch.

Release info Update on Oct 31, 2026
Release notes • Essentials of a row that is not full spread evenly over the line
• Split view is offered only when exactly two tabs are selected
• Drop a tab on another tab to split them, and split tabs share one row like in Zen
• No empty strip under Default download location in Download settings
• What's new counts every page of the tour, not only the chapter shown
• Room between the workspace icons and the buttons next to them on the home screen
• Reset to pinned URL gets its own icon, so it no longer looks like Reload
• New action: Replace pinned URL with current
• Black snackbars and tooltips in the dark themes
• Private browsing's purple is no longer among the workspace themes
• The computer icon is no longer offered for workspaces
• Split pinned tabs share one row in the pinned section too

• The actions bar is the top line of the More menu editor, and Reset is an icon at the top
• Release notes for Dejavu 2.1.0

• The clipboard button is off while the clipboard holds no link
• Chips above the address bar pick the container and the search engine of a new tab
• Search bar text keeps off the left edge and stays above the keyboard, and Settings shows the Account section before signing in
• Drag tabs to other workspaces through strips at the sides, fewer search shortcuts by default, and a tidier Account section
• Tabs in a temporary container sync with Zen too, without the container
• Release notes for Dejavu 2.3.0, and tests and lint tidied for the release
• Unpinned tabs that Zen keeps in folders stay in their folders when Dejavu syncs
